NOTES
1. The change from sawcut keyways and grooved rods to tunnel keyways and smooth rods is thought to be about 1906. However it could have been in 1907. During the changeover period some wheels/pulleys/gears etc. had both types of keyway.
2. The date of changeover from key fixing to bosses is taken as per the manuals. In practice it may have been a year earlier.
3. It is thought that normal perforated strips with rounded ends were introduced early-middle of 1908
4. The angle girders & braced girders initially had square ends. This changed to rounded ends in 1918.
