1928-1935

Amendments to model parts lists

There were many amendments/corrections to the parts lists for models during this era. These can be catagorised as follows:-

  1. In 1928/9 many 0 outfit models listed more of Part 37 than were in the outfit. This was corrected in 1930 by using available Parts 37a and 111c instead.
  2. Most models that needed Part 40 (cord) did not list the part in their parts lists. Most of these were corrected in 1931, although some were not corrected until 1932 or 1933.
  3. Many model illustrations showed the old style (pre 1928) of Part 52 without end flanges. Some of these models used Part 48a to make the end flange. In 1930 these Parts 48a were deleted from the parts list, as they were not needed with the new type Part 52. (NB. Model illustration were NOT updated during this era.)
  4. Part 20 was replaced by part 20b in outfits 2 - 4 in 1928. Model parts lists were not corrected until 1929.
  5. Part 57 (Hook) was replaced by part 57c (Small Loaded Hook) in 1932. The model part lists were amended but the model illustrations were NOT changed.

In 1928, model 1.140 - Crosshead Demonstration Model had in parts list omitted
In 3/29 manual, model 1.119 - Gate was missing its model No. and title
In 1928, model No.110 was misprinted as No.100
In 11/28 manual, model No.1.147 - Safety Catch for Winding Gear had the word 'Gear' missing
In 1929, model No.1.147 - Safety Catch for Winding Gear had some explanatory text added
In 1930, model 3.46 - The picture of Newton's disc changed
In 1928/9, the parts list for 'Swing Boat' (3.30/3.33) and 'Swinging Cot' (3.29/3.31) were swapped over
