Changes between the
1925, 9/26, 1/27, 3/28, 7/28 & 11/28
Standard Mechanism Manuals
General
The main change is between the 1925 and the 9/26 manuals and is on page 43 where:-
The 'Triangle of Forces' was deleted and replaced by three new mechanisms - SM.279-SM.281
An easy way to identify a manual which is missing its covers is by the 'Particulars and Prices of Meccano Parts' on pages 45/6. Details are as follows:-
- 1925 edition
The four columns of the parts list were as follows:-
1-23, 24-61, 62-104, 105-149
The pictures of parts were not split into categories - 9/26 edition (differences from 1925 edition)

The heading 'Pulley Wheels' above part 19c was removed
Parts 34a, 90a, 97a, 99b, 100a, 111c added
Part 27b was renamed

A note was added to the bottom of the page saying that some parts were now available in either colour or nickel - 1/27 edition (differences from 9/26 edition)

The heading 'Pulley Wheels' above part 19c was reinstated

The note at the bottom of the page changed to say parts would be supplied in colour unless nickel was specially ordered - 7/28 edition (differences from 3/28 edition)

- There was a small sticker onside the front cover saying that the figs 2 & 3 on page 6 had been swapped over

The note at the bottom of the page saying that the prices were for the home market only was removed. - Rear Cover - The four agents details were changed from a single column to a diamond shape (i.e a 1-2-1 arrangement) the NZ agent was Browning, Ifwersen Ltd.

- Page 47 - The was a sticker giving revised prices for the Hornby Sets (Is this present in all manuals?)
- Page 48 - The UK cost of the Meccano Magazine goes up to 8/- for 12 months - The Overseas rates were removed
