Akron was an interesting construction toy where the strips were connected by springs and rods. It was produced in Germany from about 1945-1950.

Flex Strips with spiral spring fixing. Strips 3 holes wide: pattern is 3 holes, 3x1h with large semi-circular cutouts each side, 3 holes, etc.
