Der Junge Mechaniker / Le Jeune Mecanicien was a very early competitor to Meccano. It was sold in Germany under the 'Der Junge Mechaniker' name and in Belgium under the 'Le Jeune Mecanicien' name. It was very similar to Meccano and was made in Germany from 1910 to around 1921.

As LE JEUNE MÉCANICIEN. Old Meccano style parts but Perforated Plate & Angle Girder instead of Flanged Plate. NB. #103 with 1 row of holes. *1 Key fixing in manual, but tapped bosses in ebay sets.
