Märklin Metall Construction Sets

Märklin Metall construction sets originated as Meccano. The German government took over control of the German Meccano operation during World War One and then sold it to the Márklin company in around 1919. There was a joint period until early 1919 when sets were jointly produced. See Meccano-Márklin. Märklin was made in Germany from 1919 until around 2000
