Mechanix by Zephyr metal construction sets were similar to Meccano. They are made in India by a company called Zephyr Toymakers Pvt. Ltd.. They have been made from the 1990s right through to the present day. Their website is https://zephyrtoys.com/. Most of the manuals below have been taken from their website.
A set named 'Mechanical' has been seen which apart from the lid looks exactly like a Mechanix set.

Well finished BRAL-like parts with white Strip(s), red & blue Plate(s). Plastic Plys, Bush Wheel including bosses. Lids with 1 or more models under name along top. *1*2Later bosses Nickel plated steel, double tapped, 4.1 bore. *3*4*5Later: Bolts cheese head 6.3 & 5.8 diameter; Nuts 7.2 & 7.4 Across flats.

Apart from its lid the only (No.1) set seen (on Ebay) is idential to MECHANIX [2]. The data here are taken from MECHANIX [2].
