Mobaco Construction Sets

Mobaco was a construction system for making buildings. The frame sections were wood, the base was layered cardboard or hardboard and the panels were cardboard. It was made in Zeist, in The Netherlands from 1924 to the early 1961 by N.V. Plaatmetaalindustrie van Mouwerik en Bal. The company which was commonly known as 'Moubal', was also a manufacturer of sheet metal products.

In 1949, Hausemann & Hötte NV of Amsterdam who made Jumbo, toys and puzzles, took over sales and marketing. They redesigned the sets and manuals to make significantly simpler and smaller models. they also added a few new parts and turned it into more of a mass market product. However the original 'Moubal' Mobaco system also continued in production up to 1952/3. All production ended in 1961.

All the manuals and photos below have come from Caspar Mol's website about Mobaco to whom I am grateful for the permission for their use. There is a lot more information on the system on his website - https://www.mobaco.nl.
