Stato-Bau was a simple construction system. The parts had alternate round and elongated holes. It was made in Germany from after World War Two to the early 1950s

Steel with a Nickel plated finish
Lid & manual cover has METALLBAUKASTEN in large & STATO-BAU in very small letters. Slots & holes in parts. 1 shallow, unperforated flange on very long Curved, & Angle Girders; 2 on U-Girders. *1 Mod.1.2, needs confirming.
