A fantastic historical resource. Useful to the researcher in so many ways. The effort that has gone into compiling and maintaining this is much appreciated.

Just brilliant, this is what was maybe outstanding for more than a century. We really need to encourage others to visit this site. Only 8000+ hits in 8 years out of a possible few million Meccano owners. The drawings is little gems in their own right. Only started collecting 6 years ago. Mainly for constructing purposes, not into the real "collecting". Frank Hornby never meant a set to go on display but rather to develop engineering skills. I am 70+ and still enjoy it daily, and that after a 50 years career in aeronautical engineering. Never had any Meccano as a kid.

Received set 1 on my fifth birthday in 1949 and an upgrade every Christmas and birthday until I reached set 8. After that loose parts, mostly gear wheels to make sci fi vehicles with electrically controlled gearboxes.
Great way to learn basic engineering! Thirty years later I was modifying old machinery to start a studio woollen mill. :D

Thank you for all the much hard work in creating this fabulous archive.

My Dad came home once with a huge pile of Meccano Magazines bought, presumably, at an auction. I have been a fan ever since. I am currently setting up my fourth Hornby rail layout!

I just love the adverts in these magazines. I would have sent off for everything but, of course, did not have the money!

A treasure-chest of information! My father started subscribing to MM in about 1923, and we picked up again in 1957. Sadly, he died just a couple of months after MM stopped in 1972. I got interested again in 1978; I still enjoy father's Meccano, Hornby trains, catalogues etc, and I add a few bits to the collection now & again. So this website is a great reference source - thank you very much indeed.
